A woman, a lithium mine and many reasons to be proud of Brazil
The history of the microcredit program that was born with a mining company for an important component of electric cars

In March of this year, I went to the Jequitinhonha Valley, in Minas Gerais. I participated in the launch of a microcredit program for women, many of them quilombola women from the region. I sat among them, I wanted to know what the program was like and what they were going to do with the credit. Diane, a beautiful woman who lives in Quilombo do Baú, told me that she is one of the three people in her family - with 300 people - who managed to study, and she was the only one who was able to complete her studies.
With the microcredit program, she is realizing a dream: to undertake. Through the Dona de Mim app, she sent the documents, received online training on the use of credit, and received the resource in an account with Banco Pérola.
Hearing the story, I couldn't stop crying. At that moment, I saw the story of several women who crossed paths: Diane, Alessandra — founder of Banco Pérola (whom I have known for years) and Ana Cabral-Gardner, CEO of Sigma Lithium. It was exciting to witness the materialization of dreams.
